The home of compassion is the centre that ensures the facilities and happiness for the innocent children of HIV/AIDS infected parents. At present there are 47 Children. Among them 15 are studying in English Medium and the rest 26 in the state language. Four of them are pursuing their PUC, one doing Diploma and one doing Degree.
Extension of Compassion:
Dayabhavan is also extending its helping hands to HIV infected as well as affected children whose parents are able to provide moral support at home but are financially unstable. 168 children are being supported through this programme.
Rehabilitation Centre For HIV Infected Children:
A new initiative of Dayabhavan, to rehabilitate positive children has begun. As a maiden attempt the centre has already rehabilitated four positive children who are continuing their education.
Adoption of School:
A Government Upper Primary School, Bhaktharahalli, with majority of students from economically backward families, was adopted to provide with economical assistance. The centre provides for their fees and study materials.
Tailoring Training Centre:
The Tailoring Training Programme is an exclusive programme for the HIV/AIDS infected and affected women. it was also a first step towards the women empowerment programme of the centre. Through the programme we aim to find a support to the PLHIVs and their families by extending a means of livelihood. After course completion, Sewing Machines are distributed to the infected people.
