St.Gregorios Daya Bhavan is an initiative by the Mission Board of Malankara Orthodox Church of India. Under the banner of Mission Board, we are running many charitable service units like Destitute Homes, separate Care Centers for leprosy patients and their affected and healthy children, Care Centers for cancer patients, Feeding Centers for their poor relatives, schooling facilities for the children from economically weaker families, Old Age Homes , Orphanages etc., all over India.
Dhaya Bhavan, a unit of the above Mission Board, has been working at Baktharahalli village of Kunigal district in Karanataka State for the past five years. It is a registered society under the Karnataka Society Registration Act.

Dhaya Bhavan was started due to Church’s compassion towards the affected persons who got victimized (including those innocent ones) because of the rapid spread of this deadly malaise of HIV/AIDS. The pathetic state of these hapless victims and their innocent family members have prompted the Mission Board to light a small candle of hope in a society which is aggressive in ostracizing these unfortunate victims.

In spite of the staring financial constraints of running so many charitable institutions from the meager help from the kind hearted fellow beings, the Mission Board took a brave plunge in to this field out of mere compassion in trusting God. Thus Dhaya Bhavan was born against all odds.

Dhaya Bhavan first decided to save the healthy children of the affected parents from the diseased environment of their homes. Thus in the Bhaktharahalli area of Karnataka, we bought a few acres of land and started providing education and boarding facilities to these children. Though these innocent children are not the victims of the virus, they were the victims of social stigma attached to this malady. We felt very much relieved to see the happiness in the faces of these socially condemned children.

Rehabilitation centre for affected children of HIV infected children, Community care Centre and Capacity Building Programmes are the three dimensions of HIV/AIDS on which D haya Bhavan plans & executes projects.
